@Crispy Beats – That’s an interesting point but I really don’t think DJing is a dying art. It’s definitely evolving though, with all the new technology that makes it easier for people to master DJing. Still, it’s not necessarily taking away from the skill but rather it’s increasing the amount of flexibility and creativity a good DJ can have. And that raises the bar for DJs because it takes a lot more skills now to be significantly better than all the other DJs out there.

This is cool! If there is one thing that I want to learn and bet my hands on this year is scratching. I have seen DJ ladies and I am really impressed how they do it with ease and passion. For others, it may look a bit easy because they are just doin’ some scratches and stuff. But as for me and other DJ wannabee’s out there, this really takes determination and passion in order to become a certified DJ! Thanks for this buddy!

I’m a DJ, but do you think DJing (as we know it) is a dying art? I mean Technics have stopped producing the 1210 turntable, and vinyl is getting more and more rare.

The new generation are into Traktor and Ableton Live and I love these products, but unfortunately it takes away from the skill of beatmatching.

It’s sad, but true.
